How To:

Weights

THIS IS THE LAST TIME ILL TRY TO GET MY POINT ACROSS.

Let me explain something about spiderweights for the 1000th time. To get a breakaway (sandbag , rock) to stick to the equalivant of lets say a 1lb weight with 1/8ss legs it would need to be 30-40 lbs. Which means ur going to be paddling out that + the weight of ur bait in a yak. Last thing u want is extra shifty ass weight in the yak with u paddling in any type.of surf. If u get dumped in the yak and that breakaway line wraps around ur leg u wont have to worry about ur bait sticking. Cuz ull be pinned on the ocean floor. Also ive had my breakaway line wrap around tabs on the yak so u paddle out far as hell only to have to turn around cuz u cant free ur line . also we get a ton of smaller shark that pick our baits up and drop it. In the case of using breakaways that would result in ur bait not being held anymore so again back to reyaking. With spiderweights if a shark is too small to pick up the bait/weight the weight regrabs and ur still fishing. There is no logical reason to use breakaways in fl or pretty much anywhere for that matter.
