How Often To Change Your Mono Fishing Line?
How often should you change your monofilament fishing line? I’m the video below we cover this in detail with three different scenarios.
1) You Are A Weekend Warrior - This means you are fishing up to 3-4 times per month. In this case you should change your monofilament every 6 months.
2) You Are Fishing A Big Money Tournament - If you are fishing a tournament with $1,000,000 on the line you are going to want to change your line after each day of fishing. All monofilament has stretch and some memory, your peak performance is always when you start using your line. This is only a small percentage loss in strength, but multiply that out by a million and it’s a big deal.
3) You Are Running A Charter Boat - In this case you are running a charter boat which means that you probably fish multiple times a week. This means your line is in the sun often and even if you are not using a specific rod you the line may start to weaken. Charter boats should be changing their monofilament at least once every three months.
