Electrical Problems On An Outboard Engine

Bullbuster Community team member Eddie Castaneda and Brand Manager Colby Uva were talking about a boat engine that just wasn't starting. The key was turning and not much was happening with the engine.  We found this guide to help you out if you are having this problem. 

This is a quick post about electrical problems on your engine.  We do not claim to be experts on this but we think that the video below will help you at least get started.  This article and video should help you if your engine doesn't start when you turn the key.  This often means that you are having an electrical problem with your engine.  Its time to pull out a volt meter and check your starter, your connections and your solenoid.

The video posted below by "bbbindustries" may be a bit corny but it does one heck of a job explaining how to check your electrical system, what you need to consider, as well as a step by step guid to trouble shooting your electrical system. 

Things To Check: 

* You will need a voltmeter

1) Where Your Voltage Drops Are

  - Battery

- Starter 

- Solenoid 

- Wire Connecting Your Battery To Your Solenoid 

* Make sure your wires have proper shrink wrapping.
