TFT Southern California Weekly Land Based Shark Report:
VC has been quiet, big swell this week making it nearly impossible to soak casted gear on the sand. Drop baits are your best bet, but theres always a chance of a deepwater sevengill or something toothier!
Los Angeles County:
LA county continues to have the random thresher bite periodically. Santa Monica Bay area is the best bet. Theres some pretty solid action on the sand in north LA county with quality rays and the occasional soupfin making a showing. Get on it and be prepared, theres always a chance of something meaner showing up!
The OC is a hotbed of activity as of late. South county seeing the most activity, with both threshers and leopards on the menu for those that can take the heat and crowds. Smaller baits are solid bets and most of the time its been floated presentations that get the most activity. Dropped baits are getting plenty of love too, with most of the bites being from smaller grade fish.
San Diego County:
SD has been seeing some neat stuff! Triggerfish and pelagic rays have made a showing, with the landbased yellowtail action on Oceanside heating up for the shore jiggers. Smaller surf sharks like leopard sharks are around for those that are willing to put in the time, with shovelnose being on tap as well.
