TFT Southern California Weekly Land Based Shark Report:

Ventura County:

Ventura pier finally started producing some juvenile threshers! These fish are smaller grade, 5-7’ at the most, but still a blast for those willing to make the hike. The surf reporting has been down due to a lack of angler involvement, but that should change as the summer crowds leave and the surf crowd gets their beach back!

Los Angeles County:

LA county continues to have the random thresher bite periodically. Santa Monica Bay area is the best bet. The soupfin are around on the sand, bigger grade fish but fewer to be had. Again, the beach going crowd is keeping the anglers at bay. Hang on guys, summer is almost over!

Orange County:

The OC continues to be the nexus of activity, with both threshers and bottom fish on tap at the moment. As typical, smaller baits are solid bets the combo of a live mac rigged n a float is irresistible to any T’s that are in the area. Sea conditions are making getting paddled baits deployed too difficult, but that’s not to say the fish aren’t there for those willing to risk it!

San Diego County:

SD continues to see bizzare warm water beasties. Skipjack coming within range of the shore jiggers and even some hammerhead sightings are making things interesting for our brothers to the south.
