TFT Southern California Weekly Land Based Shark Report:

Ventura County:

VC continues to be slow, perhaps gearing up for an early fall bite as the summer winds down. Bait has been around on the piers and the occasional bottomfish is willing to play, but generally slow fishing has made for little to report from our northern buddies.

Los Angeles County:

LA county has seen some sporadic thresher action lately, with south LA county being responsible for most of the fish. Bigger grade bat rays are around in the LB area as well for anyone in need of a fight (or bait)! The water is warming up nicely so some solid action should be on the horizon.

Orange County:

The OC continues to see lots of activity! South County went off this week with wide open soupfin and a steady pick on the apex predators as well. Lots of fish are being lost by the pier crowd, so remember to fish heavy and quality gear for these bigger grade animals! Theres been a fair bit of landbased bass action as well, so if that is your thing, capitalize!

San Diego County:

SD has been uncharacteristically quiet the last week. Exotics have been moving up with the warmer water with hammerhead and flyingfish sightings not terribly far offshore. Perhaps it is time to get ou the heavy tackle and put in some soak time!
