TFT Southern California Weekly Land Based Shark Report:

Ventura County:

VC has been quieter than usual. Some of the surf guys are staying tight to halibut and other smaller fare but the shark action has been slow. Small swell and warm weather has made for nice fishing however and enough time on the water is sure to produce. The piers in the area are still hooking a thresher or two, so put in the time!

Los Angeles County:

LA county has seen some soupfin and thresher action on the piers, the beach has been a sure thing for smaller grade bats and the leopard sharks are back around the SM area. There have been some pelagics hooked around the SM bay piers too with smaller yellowtail and bonito making a positive showing!

Orange County:

The OC finally saw some activity! The bigger game showed back up and a few fish in the 8’ class have been landed in the last week with a steady pick on the 6-7’ class fish. South county saw a few leopards and butterfly rays as well to round off the count for OC!

San Diego County:

Threshers and quieted down in the SD, but this time of year the soupfin can and will continue to play in the deeper water off the piers. Summertime is the off season for our SD brothers though and most have switched to finfish a opposed to sharking!
