TFT Southern California Weekly Land Based Shark Report JUNE 2018:
Ventura County June Shark Fishing:
Mellow swell and less weed have led to better fishing! A few batrays are being caught, along with the occasional leopard shark. Smaller baits, good casts and patience is key! When you finally do get that hook up you’ll want to be sure of your connection so trust a solid abrasion resistant mono like Bullbuster Monofilament Fishing Line!
Los Angeles County June Shark Fishing:
Threshers seem to have taken another breather this week for the LA county boys. Although there has been some solid soupfin and bat ray action continuing thanks to the heat wave! The weather seems to have heated up the pelagic action as well as a nicer grade yellowtail was caught from shore in South LA County! Conditions are looking rough for the coming weekend but next week should be an active one!
Orange County June Shark Fishing:
Orange County is on fire! The thresher action continues to heat up, and some true behemoths are being hooked and landed on the sand. The Soupfin seem to have moved on but the rays are still around and as a result some bigger model toothy things are starting to make a showing. Be sure to rig up with wire (https://bullbuster.net/wire) if chasing the bigger models, better safe than sorry.
San Diego County June Shark Fishing:
Swell and weed have moved back into SD County, a few smaller model sharks are being had, but for the most part the beach has been unfishable. Those that are sticking it out are catching, but its hard work! Big swell moving in over the weekend will only make matters worse, but there’s always next week!
