New Jersey November Monster Striper Fishing
Want to start out with a big thanks to Derek Dupree and Brett Ekelmann for the help on this trip with info.
We launched out of BI at 5:30 am started running north and stopped and trolled a few times when we marked bait but no takers. We kept running north until we caught up with the rest of the fleet and started trolling north in seaside. Worked around North and South and had our first hookup heading south. A beautiful 49 inch 41 lber which was Danny Chow’s first keeper and he managed to land in the 40lber club😱. We circled back around and trolled over the same area and bam 41 inch 30 lber. Tried it a third time with no luck and had to head back in because of work 😞.
Both fish hit chartreuse mojos. One being a single mojo the other being a double. We also had two bite offs on white mojos (assuming bluefish)
Best catch of the day was hooking a dog fish in the mouth with a snag hook 😂.
Info on the stomachs.
41 lber had what was left of an eel in it and a sand crab. The 30 lber was completely empty.
With that being said with the right conditions there should be a huge feeding frenzy any day now.
Sand eels where stacked extremely thick in seaside at some points they covered the screen from 40 feet to 65 feet down.
Fish were caught in 65 foot of water and water temp was 56.5 degrees.
Great day fishing with Danny, Liam and Jay.
