Homestead Haw Hunter Club Tournament 2018
I got 1st place in my Homestead Hawg Hunter Club Tournament Saturday night!
So Saturday the club I’m in decided to have a night Tournament in a location we never really fish. I had never been there before and didn’t know what to expect.
I started fishing close to the ramp because I didn’t want to be driving around at night in a body of water I had never been to. Luckily I started catching fish right away but I lost a big one just before dark.
Once the night fell, I was in my element. I literally caught fish all night long. Only one problem in my mind. The night was almost over and my biggest Bass was only about 3.5 lbs.
I had no idea what my total weight was as I headed into weigh in. All I did know is I’ve been in this club for many years and I felt like I didn’t have enough to even place.
To my surprise, nobody else got on em. My 12 pound bag was good enough for 1st place, my 3.5 pound Bass was big enough for Big Bass and I was taking home some money.
But that wasn’t even the best part...
Laz was my Co-Angler. He fished his first ever Bass Tournament and went from not knowing how to Bass fish three months ago to winning 3rd place as a Co-Angler.
He had 8 pounds with just four fish. He worked so hard to get that fifth fish in the boat so he could have a limit but it just never happened. There was a lot of Anglers that did not have a limit either so that made him feel pretty darn good.
With his help, we also took the Calcutta pot which is combined boat weight and we were driving back home with a pocket full of dough.
65 pound Bullbuster Braid helped us jack the fish out of the Lilly Pads and flip them into the boat. I spent more time fishing and less time worrying about equipment failures.
Thank you for reading and God Bless!
