San Antonio Texas Fishing In September
Fishing this month has been something else. It’s been a hit or a miss with all freshwater species.
The Beginning of the month was just “fire†for redfish here in San Antonio, Texas at Calaveras Lake. This month the fish have been moving around but lately I’ve realized that they have been moving in to the FLATS where the shallow waters are. They Feeding frenzy has been anywhere from early morning 6am till about 9am-10am in the mornings. With limits being caught with tilapia, blue gills and Fishbites (shrimp flavor).

Redfish have been any where from 3ft of water too 10ft, which is great for all bank fishermen. There has just been something about the hot Texas weather that has the moving deeper when the hot Texas sun comes over the top of the water.

From wading in the early mornings to wading in the after noon’s to cast lines fishing has been a blast this Month of September with fishing being caught all over by tons of angler and even the guides on the water have been getting a fair share of fish. So if you’re looking for some Lakes that house fresh water Redfish, San Antonio is where monster reds lurk, Calveras Lake and Braunig lake.
