October Chokoloskee Fishing Report
October 29-30 I fished the backcountry in Chokoloskee, the wind was blowing 20-25 NE so our decision was to stay protected in the rivers and fish the shoreline. Once we avoided the many oyster bars, we started throwing jigs, the main key was bounce the jigs and hit the bottom to kick up mud every time you jigged it. Both days were slow but we caught many small snook, redfish, and trout. I used bullbuster's 30lb regular leader with 12lb mono both days of fishing.
As a side note, anyone in the Chokoloskee area and need bait, their is unlimited bait everywhere around their. Their was acres of pilchards from a variety of sizes to mullet that looked like they would knock you out if they hit you.
