What Braided Fishing Line Should I Use?
Braid is usually used for backing on reels used for kite fishing. 30Lb braid is probably what you are going to want to back your kite reels with, just in case you hook into a monster!
Braided Line For Kite Reels:
If you are spooling your kite reels we recommend going with 80Lb braid, especially if you are launching your kite through outriggers. You want braid that is going to last after bringing in your kite over and over and over again!

What Monofilament Fishing Line Should I Use?
Most anglers use monofilament for their kite fishing reels. We recommend using 20-30Lb hi-vis monofilament. If you are just getting started with kite fishing we recommend fishing 25Lb high vis mono because it has the right balance between abrasion resistance and minimal wind resistance, making it easy for you to not only keep your baits in the water, but use the same line over and over again.

What Monofilament Leader Material Should I Use?
Make 10-15 foot leaders using 40 -50Lb leader material. If you are looking to get ready to kite fish for the season, buy a 1Lb spool and make your leaders for the season on a yoyo.

What Fluorocarbon Leader Material Should I Use?
If you are a weekend warrior or a tournament fisherman, we highly recommend using bulk fluorocarbon to make your sailfish leaders. If you don't have a lot of time to make it out there or if the money is on the line don't miss a bite because you didn't use fluorocarbon. Make 12-15 foot leaders of 40-50Lb fluorocarbon and put them on a yoyo's for the season. Again, we highly recommend skipping the mono leader and going straight to fluorocarbon if you are a weekend warrior or a tournament fisherman.
