6lbs of Crawfish were very lively and wanting to escape captivity. The pot was boiling; season was already mixed up, Potatoes, corn and sausage in the pot. The Mini BarBQ pit was all warm and chicken cooking. The only thing left was put the Mud Bugs to boil… I mean, not this time, these freshwater redfish were looking for something hard and crunchy to put them Crushers to use.
The lake was a mystery this weekend with lots of visitors from all over, camp sites all full and people fishing very where.
It was just the matter of finding my spot open and taking it, which in fact it was already taken. So I patiently waited and fished to the left of others and waited for the Texas sun to take over and have people leave the lake because of hot weather. As I patiently waited for a opening and people started leaving I knew it would be my chance to claim the spot I love to fish at Brauniq Lake, DEAD TREE Point.

As the day went on and friends showed up including Bullbuster Ambassador Chris Meza, to Celebrate his Birthday weekend with some fishing. Throughout Friday were managed to take out several redfish including my prize catch a 36-inch red on live crawfish from the bank and a 22-inch Hybrid Striped bass. Even managed a double hook up with Ambassador Chris Meza on live crawfish and other on Fishbites.

Over all about 20 plus redfish were taken out by myself and Ambassador Chris Meza and friends.

For those who seek what we do, bank fishing: the key was distance and patience. The fish seemed to be in deeper waters about 10-15ft with a Carolina rig (4oz egg slider and 7/0 circle hook) with live crawfish or shrimp with a piece of fishbites for extra scent. Another reason we like using fishbites on top of any bait is because in this product they use medical mesh and this also the sent and gum materials to stay on the hook longer with allows the bait to not slide of the hooks so easily. We use 10-12ft surf casting rods which allow us to cast baits out to about 120 yards. All reels are spooled with 25lb Bullbuster Premium Monofilament and leaders are made with 100lb Bullbuster premium monofilament and 100lb Crimps Sleeves
